Fine Arts education in India

As informed in the previous post, Fine Arts education in India primarily focuses on sculpting, painting, mural and interior design, applied art, ceramic design, mental craft and few specializations in pottery. With changing times, educational preferences have also changed. Now more and more students are willing to go for arts courses, considering its wide applications. If the artist is talented enough, he can make a good living. There are various jobs available for artists. Having few professional contacts also go a long way in securing a bright future in the field of art.

An artist, by default is very creative. But apart from creativity, he also possesses perseverance and self confidence which are so essential for truly reflecting his ideas in the created art. Few other attributes of an artist is knowledge and interest in the communal environment. He is also aware about social needs, tastes and traditions. Many a times, artists have to work in business environment. A professional artist is supposed to be a good team member. He is required to be responsible as well as must be able to take criticism. Sometimes, artists have to work under people who are not much interested in art. They are only business minded and adept at commissioning art works. In those cases, an artist must be willing to adjust with mental and economic constraints of client and employers. These attributes go a long way in carving a successful career out of fine arts education
